Week of Oct.3-7

Hello my Lovely Students! :)

Last week we finished the Ch.2 notes package I gave everyone, including the three worksheets on Needs & Wants, Values & Goals, and Roles and their influence on Consumer Behavior. You were assigned a Consumer Behavior Project, which includes a Poster and a Written Analysis. If you lost your instructions, please check the IMPORTANT HANDOUTS link for a copy of the assignment. This a a fun and creative assignment that asks you to reflect on your own buying patterns and analyzing what influences you when you shop. Although the assignment calls for a 'poster', don't feel limited to just that. You may be creative in how you present your purchases. Here is an example of fantastic creativity from last year!! Don't feel that you have to go this far above and beyond, and please do not copy this idea. However, let it inspire you to think outside-the-box and have fun with your assignment!

Here is a breakdown of what this week will look like:

(this will help you create a rough draft for your paper)

Study Tips:
  • Read and review all of the vocabulary terms (bold terms in the textbook)
  • Read and review your notes package
  • Read the entire chapter in the textbook
  • Read the "Profile" at the beginning of the chapter on Modrobes clothing
  • Ensure you know the 6 Factors that Influence Consumer Behavior (Income/Price, Status, Current Trends, Customs & Habits, Safety, Promotion)
  • Ensure you know the 5 reasons people hesitate to buy online
  • Ensure you know the 3 ways that businesses observe and predict consumers buying something
  • Complete the Ch.2 Crossword Review
In addition to reading and reviewing, make study notes (yes, write out the terms and main concepts by hand), and quiz yourself or have a friend, classmate, sibling or parent quiz you on the terms and main topics in the chapter!  Hint: the clues in the crossword would serve as a great review!!

This week you will given a lot of class time for your project.Remember to bring any materials (scissors, markers, glue, magazines/flyers, pictures, posterboard) to class and make good use of your class time! The Consumer Behavior project is Due Tuesday Oct. 11th, so what you don't finish in the class time provided, you can finish on the long weekend if necessary!

See you in class!
