Last week I assigned you a rather large "Small Business Plan" as some of you pointed out! :) Most of you have made great progress last week. By now you should have your rough draft (main ideas for #1-10) completely done and are working on writing your content in proper paragraphs, editing/proofreading, etc. On Monday, I will review how to make a brochure and give you some more class time to start that, as well as to start typing your good copy. You will only have Monday and Tuesday in class to work on this. The rest of the work on the report and brochure must be done in your own time. Remember, the due date for the written report and brochure is Monday, October 31st.
On Wednesday I will pass back your Ch.3 Tests and go over the answers with you. Then we will be starting Ch.4 which deals with Business and the Community. We will be studying such topics as:
- Economic systems (command, pure market, modern-mixed)
- The Private vs. the Public sector
- The Impact of Business on the Community (generation of wealth, jobs, income, the effect on standard of living and quality of life, city services, etc.)
- The Business Cycle
- GDP
- and much more!!
I will also show you videos on Capitalism and the Great Depression as they relate to the topics we'll be discussing.
