Semester II 2016

Sorry, I am not teaching Business Education this semester.

Sunday, 4 November 2012

Nov.5th - 8th

Hi Class,

This week will be a short week, as it is a 4 day school week due to the non-instructional day on Friday. It will also feel shorter because of Take Our Kids to Work (TOKTW), which is happening on Wednesday November 7th.

On Monday, there will be an assembly for the entire period to prepare you for TOKTW day. This really only leaves us Tuesday and Thursday to get any work done. ( I know you're very disappointed! ) ;)

We will go over the Money Circle, which I handed out on Friday and you can expect a short quiz on that very soon (either Thursday or next week). Also, we will do chapter and review questions this week in preparation for the Ch.4 test next week. Date is T.B.A. (To Be Announced). I will also hand back your business plans and presentations, which I am nearly finished marking.

Finally, this is my final week of teaching you before I hand the reins over to the teacher replacing me for my mat leave.

I wish you all the very best of luck with the rest of the semester and hope you enjoy the rest of Business Ed.

Take care and see you next year!

Oct.9 - 12th

Hi Class,

Last week you learned about the 3 different types of businesses:
  1. Manufacturing
  2. Retail
  3. Service
....as well as the 5 different types of business ownership:
  1. Sole-Proprietorship
  2. Partnership
  3. Corporation x4 (public, private, Crown, municipal)
  4. Cooperative
  5. Franchise

We defined each type and looked at the advantages and disadvantages of each. You can expect a quiz on this in the near future! (hint hint)

Last Thursday you started an online assignment about Crown Corporations that was due on Friday. Please ensure this is handed in on Tuesday if you didn't finish in the allotted class time.

This week you can expect:
  • A quiz on the different types of business ownership (as mentioned above)
  • ICE & Chapter Review Questions
  • A video/documentary aptly named "The Corporation"
  • A test date for Chapter 3 very soon..T.B.A.

Final words- don't forget the current events presentations this week if you are presenting, and yes, we will have a seating plan change! :)

See you in class!
